Mahindra Scorpio SLE 4×4 variant gets a place in its maker’s official website

The Indian UV leader, Mahindra & Mahindra has very recently launched the 4×4 variant of its all-time bestselling Scorpio Sports Utility Vehicle. Now the official website of the Indian auto giant has also posted pictures of the new Scorpio SLE 4×4 variant. The matter of surprise here is that the company did not make any official announcements for the launch of this new Scorpio 4×4 variant. However, just sometime back Mahindra did come up with a new thrilling TV commercial for the Scorpio, promoting the sheer power and brilliant performance of this stylish SUV. This new commercial might have been made to draw the attention of the Indian consumers once again to this old star before the launch of its new variant.

The new Mahindra Scorpio SLE 4X4 variant comes with many new features. It now comes with a changed suspension set up of a torsion bar in the front removing the regular coil springs/anti-roll bar suspension on the 4×2 variants. The Mahindra Scorpio SLE 4X4 variant also comes fitted with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electric Wing Mirrors, Keyless Entry, Power Windows and Rear Wiper with Defogger. The new variant also includes a new Voice-Messaging security system that alerts the driver of open doors, engaged handbrake and many other such issues. The other new features of the vehicle comprises of body coloured cladding, specially moulded door pads and rear seat arm rest. The new Scorpio 4×4 variant is heavier than its 4×2 variant and weighs a hefty 2,610 kilograms. Moreover, apart from the SLE model, an entry level LX variant of the Scorpio also comes with the 4×4 technology. The new Mahindra Scorpio SLE 4X4 variant comes with a price tag of Rs. 10.72 lakhs (ex-showroom, Bangalore).

The new Scorpio SLE 4×4 is basically a rear-wheel drive vehicle that will allow smooth drive and better handling even on rough and vague terrains. However, the vehicle now also has a low range Borg Warner Transfer Box that takes care of minimum off-roading, while the vehicle’s All Wheel Drive (AWD) Mode comes fitted with shift-on-the-fly advantage that is suitable for tough and hostile terrains.
Under the hood, the new Scorpio SLE 4×4 is powered by the standard 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine that can churn out a maximum power of 120 bhp and a maximum torque of 290 Nm. The powerful engine is coupled with a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox that lets the vehicle accelerate smoothly. On terms of fuel efficiency, the SLE variant delivers an average fuel economy of 12 kmpl on city roads.

It is needless to mention that the new 4×4 technology has made the already powerful Mahindra Scorpio even more invincible, which should definitely boost its sales.
